J.B. Edney and his family migrated from Scotland in 1859 and they then walked from Sydney to Wagga.
Wagga’s first foundry was established by J.B. Edney in a small wooden building. This photo from the Sherry Morris Collection was taken in 1881 shows JB Edney and Son, General Blacksmiths and Shoeing Forge. James Welsh Edney, son of J.B. Edney is in the centre.
