Wagga Wagga Express – Wagga’s 1st Newspaper

The first newspaper in Wagga Wagga was the “Wagga Wagga Express and Murrumbidgee District Advertiser”.
The first edition was published on the 30th October 1858 and it ceased publication in September 1939.
Unfortunately most of the early editions have not survived. The period October 1858 to October 1859 has survived, with some omissions, as has the majority, but not all, of the year 1866.
All of the period 1867-1871 is missing.
The two early years (1858-1859, 1866)are now accessible on TROVE.
