Interested to know the Irish – Australia connection behind the naming of the street.
John Fitzmaurice was a Major General in the 95th rifles and fought in Wellingtons campaign including the Battle of Waterloo.

My name is Janet Crowe. I am researching my family history. My Great Great grandfather was John Keane who came to Australia with his wife and daughter in 1836 he owned a station with John price at Cookardinia for ten years then went in partnership with John Cox and owned Pullitop t station wagga wagga then divided the property he took Clifton They had a 10 children I know very little about his life in Cookardinia they were the first settlers there I think
His daughter Bridget married my great grand father Mr John Bernard Crowe they had a property at Little Billabong called Rooksdale which they lost after 25 yrs They when broke I would be grateful if you can give me some information about them or direct me to a web site Kindest regards
