The State Library of NSW and the National Library of Australia are working collaboratively to digitise and make available NSW Government Gazette (1832 to 2001).
These important government records will be delivered through the National Library’s popular online discovery service – Trove – with a sample of these issues appearing as early as next month (November). Nearly one million pages will be completed by the end of the project.
This unique and useful resource will benefit local, family and social historians and researchers throughout Australia.
The new Government Gazette material will be released as part of the Trove 7 launch in November, which will also feature a new-look Trove newspapers zone. New newspapers will have a simplified interface, customisable display and viewer options, new browse features and improved Text Correction options. This work was partly funded by the generous donations received from members of the Trove community as part of the ‘Change lives, Support Trove’ appeal.
