NSW Cultural Grant for Film Migration Project

rahs-grant-2016 Wagga Wagga and District Historical Society and Charles Sturt University Regional Archives have been successful in obtaining support from the Arts NSW Cultural Grants Program to assist our News Film Migration Project.

The grant of $2,000 together with contributions from the Society and from CSU archives will allow the digitisation and conservation of a large quantity of 16mm newsfilm footage currently housed at the CSU Regional Archives.

The CSU Regional Archives has a collection of over 1,200 16mm reels of news film from RVN2 television station. The collection covers the period 1975-1983 and documents all aspects of society in Wagga and the Riverina.

The NSW Cultural Grants Program is a devolved funding program administered by the Royal Australian Historical Society and the grant funding was presented by President of the Royal Australian Historical Society, Carol Liston to Wagga Wagga and District Historical Society, Vice-President, Peter Gissing at a recent conference in Wollongong.
