Learn to Swim and Life Saving Classes have long been a feature of Wagga Wagga.The Wagga Amateur Life Saving Club was formed in 1921 and in 1927 the Wagga Beach Life Saving Club was officially formed with the Club remaining active providing patrols and other activities at the Wagga Beach until the early 1950’s when new headquarters were established at the new Morgan Street swimming pool and club became the Wagga Amateur Swimming and Life Saving Club.
The Club and their activities were regularly featured in newspaper articles some of which can to seem here on Trove.
Over the years other organisations also became involved including Wagga Wagga City Council and service clubs including Rotary and Apex.
