Kapooka Military Area was only the third organisation or person to be awarded the “Freedom of the City”of Wagga Wagga” following The Hon E.H. Graham, MLA, Minister for Agriculture & Member for Wagga Wagga in 1957 and the Royal Australian Air Force Base Wagga Wagga in 1961.
