Hardy’s was for many years a very prominent local building firm begun in the 1860’s by Charles Hardy and responsible for the construction of many of Wagga’s public buildings and early houses. The retail hardware part of the business, pictured here, operated on the eastern side of Baylis Street for many years, relocating to Chaston Street in 1969. That store is now operated by Hudson Hardware.
The Baylis Street site was for many years occupied by Woolworths until the site became part of the Wagga Marketplace shopping centre which opened on 17th March 1997.
