Fifty years ago in 1966 well known Wagga resident Mr George Read, formerly of “Braehour” at Forest Hill celebrated his 95th Birthday.
Mr Read came to the Wagga district in 1924 when he bought “Braehour”, a riverside property at Forest Hill. In 1937 he retired to live in Kincaid Street with his two daughters, Misses Trixie and Margaret Read. He also has three sons, Messrs Don, Stuart and Bill Read. Mr Read’s main interests have been pastoral persuits and he is a past president of the Wagga Show Society and the Wagga Bowling Club. He is still active and a keen gardener. – Daily Advertiser
