Welwyn Private Hospital, on Simmons Street, had been owned and operated by Doctor WW Martin and Doctor SH Weedon from 1923. It was leased by the directors of the Wagga Wagga Base Hospital Board from 1939 until 1942, accommodating an average of 10 patients a day.
