- Riverina Health Service general manager, Nancye Piercy said that the current elective surgery waiting list at Wagga Base Hospital would be halved from 1270 patients to 635 by the end of the year.
- Chairman of Southern Riverina Electricity and Water, Councillor Bob Osborne, believes an amalgamation of electricity distributors south of the Great Dividing Range would mean widespread job losses.
- Wagga City Councillors voted seven to six to increase their fees from $5000 to $8000 after rejecting a finance committee recommendation to increase the fee to $10,000.

- Wagga businessman, Jack Skeers has been endorsed for the third time as ALP candidate for the seat of Wagga in the forthcoming state election.
- Sydney visitor, Mrs Joan Wales is pictured in the Daily Advertiser dancing with Mr Ken Kenneally at The Wagga Picnic Race Ball held in the Kyeamba Smith Hall.
- Noel Cook won the final of the Wagga Commercial Club Minor Singles Bowls Championship playing against Keith McDonald.
