- Brian Sheppard Place was dedicated in a ceremony at Charles Sturt University’s Wagga Campus to mark the contribution to the University by the late Brian Sheppard.
- Acting Wagga police patrol commander, Inspector Neville Tarleton and the Wagga Community Consultative Committee are considering a plan to rid Wagga’s central business district of crime.
- Wagga Labor party candidate at the March State election, Col McPherson predicted that voters would return to the polls within a year suggesting that sitting member Joe Schipp would retire before the end of his term.
- CSU has awarded Keith Swan with an Honorary Doctorate (honoris causa) in recognition of his long and valued contribution to the University and its predecessor institutions and particularly for his role in the establishment of the University Archives.
- RSL was awarded the Allan Lawrence Shield following the Wagga and District Cricket Association first grade grand final at Robertson Oval.
- The first cohort of 376 students graduated from CSU’s policing courses at Joyes Hall on the Wagga Campus.

- Minister for Local Government and Highways, Mr Morton is arranging discussions between the Department of Main Roads and Wagga City Council to determine a site for the replacement of the Hampden Bridge.
- A mobile post office and special post markers depicting a vintage car are being provided in connection with the 10th International Rally for Veteran and Vintage Cars with 500 cars and bikes visiting Wagga this week.
- A crowd of about 200 attended the St Michael’s Parish Picnic at the Borambola National Fitness Camp.
- Turvey Park swimmer, Belinda Paul set a new record in the senior 50 metres breaststroke event at the Combined Primary Schools Swimming Championships at North Sydney.
- $350, proceeds of a testimonial football match between Turvey Park and Wagga at Gissing Oval were presented to Robbie Nolan by Turvey Park Australian Rules president, Jim Egan.
