- A miracle is needed to save local farmers according to local agronomist, Steve Sutherland as Wagga joins the 93% of New South Wales which has been drought declared.
- Paddy Sykes, a former chartered accountant and wool classer from Humula was ordained a Catholic Priest at St Michael’s Cathedral.
- Council has voted to retain the current council chambers while placing plans to upgrade the Northside Complex on hold and calling for a design brief for a new administration building.
- Well known former Wagga RSL sub-branch president and long times city resident, Jack Skeers has died at the age of 83.
- Warwick Hastie and John Harding as well as the sitting member, Joe Schipp have all declared their intention to contest Liberal Party pre-selection for the seat of Wagga Wagga.
- Kooringal Rotary Club celebrated its 25th Anniversary Dinner with four active charter members, Wal Breust, Greg Knight, Kevin Warden, and Michael Lennon attending.
- A crowd estimated at 26,000 attended the Wagga Show over three days making it a complete success according to show society secretary, Bruce Mulqueeney.
- Shannon Dunn was announced as 1994 Miss Showgirl at the Wagga Show.

- Mt Austin High School principal, Mr. C S Oliver said students were expected to conform with school regulations relating to hairstyles or face expulsion from the school.
- Twenty people have died as a result of road accidents in Wagga this year which is down from twenty-six for the same period last year according to Traffic Supervisor at Wagga, Sgt L G Robinson.
- Brilliant Wagga centreman and Farrer League representative, John Wright who is studying to be an accountant has indicated that he may retire from senior football next year.
- Wagga police have warned people to be on guard against thieves and confidence tricksters during the Wagga Show.
- Charter President Greg Knight accepted the Club Charter from Rotary District Governor, Keith Pike at the Wagga-Kooringal Rotary Club’s inaugural dinner held at Romano’s Hotel.
- Miss Gwen Ansell was chosen as Princess of the Ball at the Collingullie Host and Hostess Cabaret Ball.
- Miss Heather Lashbrook is the winner of this year’s Miss Showgirl contest at the Wagga Show.
- Deputy principal at Watson High School in Canberra has been appointed as principal at Wagga High School following on from Mr. Arthur Judd who has been appointed principal at Melrose High School in Canberra.
- Wagga Teachers College is recruiting a Typist-Telephonist with a minimum age of 16 years and a salary range of $1050 o $2173 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.
- Miss Wagga, Dawn Lowe led the annual Lions Club Showtime parade along Wagga’s main streets. The Electricity Commission was judged to have the most attractive float in the parade.
- Huthwaite’s Machinery is celebrating 44 years of service to farmers and graziers in the Wagga district.
- The ninth annual contest between NSW and Victoria Radio-Controlled Model Aircraft Clubs is being held at “Connorton” at the eight-mile peg on the Uranquinty Road.
- Livestock Officer for Pigs in the Southern Region, George Simpson was presented with life membership of the Wagga Show Society after 22 years of service to the Society.
- M Rava and Co, advertising as Wagga’s leading mower centre, are offering rear catcher power mowers from $99 after trade-in.
- Jack Holden was re-elected as chairman of the Wagga Pastures Protection Board.
- Lola Schirmer won the Wagga Tenpin Bowling Championships at the Wagga Bowl.
