St Michael’s Catholic Presbytery

An early photo of St Michael’s Catholic Presbytery featured on a postcard sold by Edmondson and Co in the early 20th century. Picture: Sherry Morris

Built in 1871, the Catholic Presbytery in Church Street was originally single storey. An upper storey and new wing designed by W. J. Monks were added in 1902 .

In 1917 when the Diocese of Wagga was formed the presbytery became the residence of the new bishop. The building was further extended in the 1930s when two extra bays were added on the northern end
