The Society would like to thank Mrs Edith Joyce Green who has kindly donated some souvenir photos of Wagga Wagga.
Mr & Mrs Green visited Wagga Wagga in earlier days and kept a fold out souvenir along with eight black & white postcard type photos of prominent Wagga buildings and scenery, as a reminder of their visit.
Copies of these items are attached for the interest of members and the public in general.
Items included in the eight photo set are as follows:Lewisham Hospital; Methodist Church; Mount Erin Convent; Murrumbidgee River (view from Hampden Bridge); War Memorial; Lake Wollundry; Panorama of Wagga Wagga.
Items included in the fold out souvenir publication are as follows: Civic Theatre; Olympic Pool; View of Kooringal & Lake Albert; Meteor Jets at entrance to RAAF Base; Wagga Wagga Sale Yards; Wagga Wagga Beach; Wollundry Lagoon; Botanic Gardens; Archway to Lord Baden Powell Drive; Baylis Street.
Not sure when the various photos were taken, but the cars in the souvenir folder suggest 1970’s?
Some, possibly all, of the black & white photos are from an earlier period.
