- After 17 years in the Woolworth’s carpark Wollundry Rotary’s Sunday markets is closing but will reopen soon at the Wagga Showgrounds.
- Councillor Dennis Blackett has called for an urgent review of selection criteria for Wagga’s Sporting Hall of Fame believing the current criteria is too restrictive.
- In his Editors Desk column, Daily Advertiser Editor, Michael McCormack criticised mudslinging, pettiness and bickering amongst newly elected Wagga Councillors.
- Wagga RSL Club Chief Executive, Michael Mercer, announced that the Club had an operating profit of $578,537 last financial year.
- Geoff McGilvray has been elected to the Wagga Leagues Club board of Directors replacing Tom Looney who has been a director since 1989.

- Alan Bromham, Wayne Harrison, and Norm Kerslake caught a 25lb cod fish with only a yabby in the overflow of Lake Albert.
- Wagga City Council has called tenders for construction of a city crematorium at a cost of $70,000.
- Ian Bell and John Mercer presented trophies donated by Bells Softdrinks to be awarded to outstanding floats in this weeks Lions Club Showtime Parade.
- School children in Wagga have a full day’s holiday for the Wagga Show.
- Wagga City Council took the first steps to give homeowners and occupiers in North Wagga full existing user rights.
- Chairman of the Murrumbidgee Ambulance Service, Mr M H Gissing stressed the importance of income from subscriptions rather than relying on the uncertainty of other forms of fundraising.
