- Kooringal High School Class of 1985 held a reunion at Romano’s Hotel.

- Mrs Alvena Buik who ran the Lake Albert Post Office for nearly 25 years with her late husband, Alick Buik, has died aged 80.

- Almost 1500 people packed the Civic Theatre over three sessions for a performance by members of the Australian Ballet Company.
- Show Society Secretary, Mr Bill Lampe said that 39,000 attended the 1970 Wagga Show last week.
- More than 240 ex-prisoners of war and their wives attended the Riverina Ex-POW Associations most successful reunion dinner ever at the Wagga Police-Citizens Boys Club.
- A “Red Mass” was held at St Michaels Cathedral as a prelude to the Supreme Court sitting in Wagga.
- Brian Lawrence and Norm McLennan were the only Wagga players reported to have shown reasonable form when Wagga Leagues Cricket Club lost possession of the Hoare Trophy when trounced by South Sydney Leagues Club.
- Tenders have been called for major building projects at Wagga High School including a three-storey school accommodation block and assembly hall.
- Bob Ashton has resigned as secretary of the Wagga Tennis Association after 22 years in the position.
