• Kapooka Army Base representative, 23-year-old Sondra Kremerskothen was crowned Miss Wagga 1993. She also won the award for highest fundraiser, raising $22,516 for Acacia Lodge.
• Wagga Air Show organised by Central Wagga Lions Club was opened by adventurer Dick Smith.
• Former Wagga boy, Stuart Pinney flew as a pilot for the RAAF Roulettes in another feature of the Air Show.
• Close to 1000 people attended a clearing sale which included memorabilia and old wares at Sarsfield Park, Collingullie, owned by the McDougall family since 1902.
• Former Town Clerk, Brian Andrews, has been appointed to the new position of general manager of the Wagga City Council.
• Long standing supporter, Ross Ingram, has been elected as the new president of the Riverina Australian Rules Club.
• 1RTB Kapooka Soldiers Chapel was opened by Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General J C Grey AO.
• Wagga Community Consultative Committee opposed a move to extend trading hours by the John MacArthur Tavern and reaffirmed its support for liquor trading hours to cease at 3am.
• Head of Wagga City Council’s engineering department, Laurie Fromholtz, announces that he will leave his 45-year career in local government to establish a consultancy service.
• Sewing teacher, Isobel Dunne fell about five metres through rotting floorboards into an old cellar while giving sewing lessons at the KnowHow sewing centre in Baylis Street.
• Two years and $15 million after the foundation stone was laid, Health Minister, Ron Phillips opened long awaited extensions at Wagga Base Hospital.
• NSW Minister for Industrial Relations and employment, Kerry Chikarovski, officially opened the Business Enterprise Centre office in Thomson Street.
• Spokeswoman for the Children’s Medical Research Foundation, Annette Lamont said that the response to their Christmas Fair had been “overwhelming” with more than 75 stall holders participating.

• About 50 members of the Amalgamated Postal Workers Union walked off the job forcing the closure of Wagga Post Office.
• Water Engineer, Mr F Baker said Southern Riverina County Council is sinking bores which could add 2.4 million gallons of water a day to Wagga’s town supply.
• Wagga businessman Mr Jack Skeers is the new president of the Wagga Chamber of Commerce following on from Mr R A Johnson.
• Councillors T V Brunskill and J F A Scholfield are not seeking re-election for the Kyeamba Shire.
• Chairman of the Community Advancement Fund, Mr Warwick Tomkins, said that the past year had seen many policy changes and departures from traditions.
• Local Band, The Fifth Edition has been booked for a new night club launched by Mr Keith Bird and Mr Nick Harris, designed for the 18-30 age group.
• Portable classrooms are being added to Mt Austin High School to improve the serious accommodation position at the school.
• Well known Wagga golfer, Mr Wayne Hale celebrated his 21st Birthday with a party at the City Golf Club.
• Mrs Mary Gillard, a member of the well-known Berrigan family is the new manageress of the Wagga Shoe Centre.
• Kurrajong School Marching Team won the Southern District Marching Trophy competing against teams from Canberra, Cooma, Queanbeyan and Goulburn.
• Mrs N Richardson defeated Mrs M Bennett 31-13 in the district singles at the Wagga Women’s Bowling Club.
• Members of the Australian Barefoot Water Ski Club were one of the highlights of Wagga Boat Club’s Ski Spectacular at Lake Albert.
