- An environmental study on Wagga’s proposed northern lake will proceed despite an attempt by Councillor Eldridge to stop it.
- The Wagga Boat Club annual sailing regatta was held at Lake Albert.
- Gino Alleva celebrated 30 years of service as an NRMA employee at Wagga at a dinner party with guests including NRMA area manager Michael Wynne, retail manager Cherie Evans, claims manager Leigh Nash and assessing manager, Neil Purvis.

- Member for Wagga, Wal Fife announced $117,000 had been allocated by the NSW State Government for construction of a new complex at Kurrajong School.
- Final judging in this years Miss Wagga Quest was held at Noah’s Townhouse.
- Southern Riverina County Council Clerk, Mr J Colquhoun recommended increases in water rates of at least 50% for next year following huge deficits in the past three years.
- Wagga Ambulance Younger Set members including Robert Palframan, Glen Adams, Maria Kovacic and Steve Kovacs had a charity appeal in Wagga’s main street to raise finance for a crash Wagon.
- RSL Club manager, Mr Wal Spokes presented an annual donation of $850 to Mr J Henderson, president of Wagga Legacy.
- Seventeen teams took part in the Turvey Park Marching Girls Championships at the Eric Weissel Oval.
- The Rev. Alan Walker, President of the NSW Methodist Conference has begun a five-day Mission to Wagga.
- Second Wagga Scouts and Cubs, including Roy Thew, Peter Haines, Chris Haines, Robert Blake, Timothy Caldwell, Darren Greer, Graham Shephard, and Peter Poiner held a successful bottle drive.
- Foul weather jackets were presented to the Wagga Rescue Club by Mr David Maurer, manager of Dunlop’s Garments in Wagga.
- An eight-year-old asthmatic girl was revived by mouth to mouth resuscitation at the Wagga City Baths by pool manager, Bruce Miller.
- Harold and Jim Cloke presented a president’s chair to Wagga Women’s Bowling Club president, Alice Edyvean.
- Leagues Club chefs, Albert McCurdy and Bill Taylor prepared a beautifully decorated roast pig for the annual Leagues Club Anglers Presentation Night.
- The Trinity Senior High School Graduation Ball was held at the Kyeamba Smith Hall.
- More than 40 people attended the annual meeting of the Wagga Beach Life Saving Club.
- Wagga Cellar in Lake Albert Road are selling South Australian sweet sparkling wine for 90 cents a bottle, French Brandy for $2.80 a bottle and Scotch Whisky for $4.99 a bottle.
