- Wagga Hockey Associations first life member Pam Jessup has died and is survived by her husband, well-known Wagga businessman Barry and their three children, Ian, Robyn and Helen.
- A large crowd turned out at the Commercial Club for the 50-year reunion of Wagga Base Hospital Trainee Nurses.
- The Wagga branch of the Arthritis Foundation which has 150 members is providing information stalls at Wagga Pharmacies during Arthritis Week.
- Council’s environmental services committee is recommending that the Council spend $8000 on national newspaper advertisements calling for expressions of interest in the commercial use of the Hampden bridge.
- Member for Wagga, Joe Schipp announced a State Government grant of $25000 to further promote Wagga as “the city of good sports”.
- A new committee for the Miss Wagga Quest has been formed which includes Ron Fenton, David Font, John Jones, Louise Blackett, Carolyn Toohey and Margaret Keane.
- Trinity Senior High School student, Melanie Bradley ran a personal best competing against the best 800-metre runners in Australia to gain third place in the open 800 metres event at the Optus Grand Prix athletics meeting in Canberra.
- Wagga Swimming Club member, 14-year-old Elizabeth McDonald won seven medals from her nine events at the Australian Capital Territory age championships at the AIS pool in Canberra.
- Lake Albert had a hard-earned 8-5 win over Wagga Plumbing and Hardware in the Wagga Water Polo A grade grand final.
- Kevin Wales who retired from the NSW Police force this week and was farewelled at a dinner attended by 150 friends, family and colleagues now intends to run for Wagga City Council at the next election in September.
- Country Women’s Association members, Elaine Armstrong and Jan Brill have been commended for their service to the organisation.
- Lorna Reynoldson, Anne Gilmour, Elizabeth Taber, Gloria Piffero and Sue Martin all original staff are pictured in the Daily Advertiser celebrating Caloola Court Nursing Home’s 10th Birthday.
- New South Wales Law Society President, Maurie Stack was welcomed to Wagga by Philip Goldsmith, president of the Law Societies South West Slopes group.
- Wagga Golf Club President, David Byfield announced that the Club which will celebrate its centenary in May, had a net profit of nearly $60,000 in 1994.

- Almost 50,000 people stood six deep in Baylis and Fitzmaurice Streets to applaud more than 60 floats, novelty displays, vintage cars, marching girls, army tanks, RAAF missiles, bands and clowns taking part in the Wagga Centenary of Local Government procession.
- Bill Tilden won the main trophy in the Murrumbidgee Whaler Competition held during Wagga’s Centenary week with a Murray Cod weighing 40½ lb.
- “I Know Wagga Wagga”, the prize-winning entry in the Wagga Centenary Song Writing Competition may be published in Australia and Internationally by Paling Pty Ltd.
- Wagga’s new Captain Cook Drive on Willan’s Hill was named and opened with the unveiling of a plaque by the Member for Wagga, Mr Wal Fife.
- More than 700 people packed St. Michael’s Cathedral to attend the funeral of police Constable Kenneth Cluff who died from first and second-degree burns he suffered in a petrol explosion in February.
- Council will commence preliminary investigations into the extension of the Kooringal sewerage scheme to the Lake Albert Village.
- The Mayor Ald Harris hosted a Civic Reception for Mrs Aroti Dutt, World President of the Associated Country Women of the World.

- City Engineer, Mr C Knott submitted progressive plans for a second Olympic Pool which were accepted by Wagga City Council.
- Wagga Rugby League has been granted the use of Robertson Oval for a game to be played against a Great Britain touring side.
- Wagga City Council has prepared a plan for a $350,000 development of an industrial estate on the site of the old civil aerodrome in Hammond Avenue.
