- There are now 1240 students at Mt. Austin High School but efforts to obtain additional teachers have met with little success.
- Wagga and District Bowling Association president Wal Blake and Association secretary Noel Barnes combined to win the Wagga and District State pairs title.
- Council is seeking legal advice on its powers to enforce fencing of private swimming pools.
- St Michael’s Regional High School Captain, John Gaynor and prefects were inducted at a ceremony attended by school principal, Brother P. T. Farrell, and Bishop F. A. Carroll.
- Show Society president, Mr J. S. Macrae said that the societies funds were seriously depleted following a financial loss from last year’s show of $2387.
