- Humid weather conditions savaged Wagga asthma sufferers with at least 96 people seeking assistance from Wagga Base Hospital within a few hours.
- Sergeant Dennis Guerin said that the open day at Wagga Police Station had been a huge success with more than 1500 people attending.
- Hundreds of parents and friends attended a farewell function for Graham Kennedy who is leaving St Michaels High School after 11 years as its principal.

- Despite some opposition, Wagga City Council resolved to allocate $30,000 for the purchase of touring theatrical shows despite a loss of $12,700 in 1993.
- Spokesperson for the Wagga AIDS Task force, Marion Dunn said several activities had been planned for AIDS Awareness Week.
- Results of telephone and mail surveys showed little support for outside traders who were seen as “taking money out of the city” according to Chamber of Commerce board member, Graeme Smith.
- Wagga triathlete Paul Doyle won the Wagga Workout triathlon with Peter Krause coming in second.

- Wagga’s first Girraween Festival finished on a high note with a big crowd watching Ken English win the Wagga Gift held at Eric Weissel oval.
- Additional staff are being engaged by Wagga Post Office to handle what is expected to be a record number of parcels and letters this Christmas.
- More than 100 people saw Wal Fife open the Riverina Tourist Authority’s Visitor and Information Centre in the basement of the 2WG building in Fitzmaurice Street.
- C grader, Graham Lisle was a popular winner of Saturday’s par event at the Wagga Country Club.
- A local man was fined $150 and disqualified from driving for six months in Wagga Court for driving under the influence after being seen by Detective Sergeant L Lundie driving in Tarcutta Street at about 15 mph.
- Frank Ingram, Frank and Peter McIntyre have joined Gus and Mick Kerlin in the partnership and management of Kerlin’s Service Station.
- Gus Kerlin is spending most of his time with the new Don Jones Tyre Service while Mick Kerlin remains with Kerlin’s Service Station.
- Wagga elocutionist, Mrs Phoebe Price is adjudicating the speech and drama section of the NSW Railways Institute Eisteddfod in Sydney.
- Miss Lyn Montgomery and Mr Malcolm Nixon were pictured in the Daily Advertiser attending the Girraween Festival Ball.
