· Wagga’s Test cricket hero’s Mark Taylor and Michael Slater were treated to a Civic Reception and ticker tape parade down Baylis Street.
· 1100 runners competed in the City to Lake fun run which was won by former Wagga boy Colin Dominish in a time of 29 minutes and 20 seconds.
· Brett Gale won Group Nine Rugby Leagues best and fairest award, the Eric Weissel Memorial Medal at a gala function attended by 300 people at the Wagga Leagues Club.
· Speech and drama convenor, Wendy Coupe said that a record number of entries aged from six years to eighty are contesting the speech and drama section of the 1993 Eisteddfod.
· Wagga and District Family History Society is celebrating its tenth anniversary.
· Murrumbidgee Turf Club secretary-manager, Greg Nichols described the clubs record distribution of NSW TAB funds of $1,068,961 as a “welcome bonus”.
· Chamber of Commerce board member, Julie Briggs said early results of a Wagga business survey indicates a belief that out-of-town traders are having a negative effect on local retailers.
· Member for Wagga, Joe Schipp opened extensions totalling nearly $60,000 to the Golden Valley Nursing Home.

· Trinity Senior High School principal, Brother Sherrin, is to take up a new challenge next year as principal of a Christian Brothers School at Banz a town located in the middle of Papua New Guinea.
· Manager, John Bentley said that renovations at the Wagga Warehouse in Fitzmaurice Street have increased the size of the store by 25%.

· A committee appointed by Minister for Education Mr C Cutler has recommended establishment of a “Riverina College of Advanced Education” on the present Wagga Teachers’ College site.
· Two hundred houses are being built by the Housing Commission at Kooringal to the east of the new Kooringal Shopping Centre.
· Wagga Baths have opened for the swimming season with seasons tickets available for $1.50 for children and $4 for adults.
· Representatives from Rotary, the St Vincent de Paul Society and the Society for the welfare of Retarded Children (Kurrajong) formed a steering committee investigate and coordinate services for handicapped children in Wagga.
· Wagga’s most famous hotel – Romano’s was sold at public auction for $100,000 to Wagga publican, Bill Morgan.
· Minister for National Development, David Fairbairn opened the NSW Chamber of Commerce Federation’s annual conference at the Town House Motel.
· A large number of people attended the unveiling of a plaque in memory of the late Fred White at the reserve to be named in his honour in Lakeside Drive.
· Local Mathematics teachers including Arthur Trewin, Paul Rafferty, Ken Scollay and John Rosengren have formed a Riverina Mathematical Association.
