- Prime TV celebrated its 30th birthday with many original employees attending including, Kevin Olsen, Pat Combs, Robbie Griffiths, Paul Griffiths, Vivienne Tucker and David Font.
- Roger Ansell has been appointed as manager of Wagga’s visitors centre and convention bureau and 2WG radio announcer, Luke Grealy has been appointed as tourism marketing manager with Wagga City Council.
- Margaret Sheldon and Joe Hawkins were among six Riverina people named as recipients of the Order of Australia in this years Queens Birthday Honours list.
- Member for Wagga Joe Schipp called on Wagga’s business community to contribute $100,000 towards major race meetings in Wagga following postponement of the 1994 Wagga Gold Cup.
- Two Bosnian families who have escaped their war-torn homeland have been welcomed to Wagga by the Kooringal Sacred Heart Parish.
- Appeal chairman, Rodney Parsons said he was pleased that $135,000 had been raised for Wagga Base Hospital equipment in less than a month and that at this rate it was possible that their target of $500,000 would be reached.
- Senior City Council Engineer, Colin Earnshaw said Wagga City Council is clearing the former gas works site of hazardous underground material to stop waste leaking into the Murrumbidgee River.

- Central Wagga Apex Club has launched an appeal to assist Danny McLachlan who was paralysed from the neck down after diving into the river at the Wagga bathing beach.
- Wagga Campus Manager, Terry Ryan said Wagga TAFE will soon offer courses including plumbing, welding and panel beating, designed to help young people find a job.

- Six people have died in Riverina accidents over the long weekend including three road accidents and two drownings.

- Eighteen large trusses transported from Melbourne are being lifted into position by a giant crane as work on Edmondson’s department store continues.
- Kangaroo’s defeated the Junee Diesels 41 to 7 at Eric Weisell Oval in one of the biggest wins in the modern history of the Maher Cup.
- The annual interstate ANZ bank squash championships were held in Wagga.
- Mr. and Mrs. Felix Siebels celebrated their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary at a party in the Damscke Memorial Hall in Athol Street.
- In the biggest fire since Nesbitt’s furniture store 10 years ago the premises of Riverina Picture Frame and Photo Processors in Fitzmaurice Street were gutted by fire.
- Bill Blackall, president of the Wagga High School Parents and Citizens’ Association said donations were urgently needed to boost their depleted bank account.
- Sixteen-year old Laurel Rowe has been awarded her Teacher’s Diploma in National and Highland dancing.
- Peter Ansell and Robyn Marks have both been selected to play in NSW junior state hockey teams following the NSW State hockey carnival held recently in Newcastle.
- The Wagga Apex Club will hold its annual Old Buffers night next week with those attending asked to ring Michael Kennedy or Ken Keneally.
- Following recent rains, Lake Albert is full after reaching near record lows last summer.
